Italian Cluster for Aerospace Technology

Italian Cluster for Aerospace Technology (CTNA is the Italian acronym) synthesize and focus all needs and priorities that the national aerospace stakeholders have developed over the last years based on global market trands and sector policies at European and international level.
CTNA acts as unique player at a national level, aggregating all different actors in the aerospace field: regional Aerospace industrial and technological Districts, Governmental Institutions, national Agencies and Platforms, industry federations, large entrerprises, SMEs, research centres and academic environment.

CTNA Strategic Plan is aligned and consistent with EU and National aerospace programs, with particular reference to HORIZON 2020. CTNA strategy aims to carry out ACARE (Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe) and ESA (European Space Agency) visions at European level, and ACARE Italia and Spin-IT platforms at national level, respectively for aeronautics and space sector.

CTNA is devoted to ensure Italian aerospace industry acts at the highest level in Europe, both in the air transport sector, meeting the challenge of "smart, eco-sustainable and integrated transport system", and in space research requiring to safeguard and develop a competitive space industry aimed to fundamental enabling technologies.

The CTNA activity addresses the follwing high level strategic goals the national technological excellences improvement, the research and innovation system expansion, the development of all industrial actors along Aerospace supply chain, the competitiveness increase at national and international scale and the qualitative and quantitative growth of employment.

The strategic management approach is developed starting from World Class Cluster management models and it is organised into four areas: environment, strategic model, operating model and financial model. CTNA defined specific strategic programs to implement over the period 2013-2017 in order to acheive own strategic goals. Strategic programs regard supply chain development, intellectual property valorisation, internationalization, competence development and "brand internationalization and technology marketing" area.

CTNA has presented the application form related to the MIUR Tender called "Avviso per lo sviluppo e potenziamento di Cluster Tecnologici Nazionali (di cui al D.D. 257/Ric del 30 maggio 2012)" and the proposed Strategic Plan was approved by the MIUR with D.D. 14/12/2012 n.18.
